Over the years, Pat Sajak (the host of Wheel of Fortune) has never been shy about poking fun at contestants. It’s one of the reasons America loves Sajak so much. He doesn’t take things too seriously. However, fans were outraged by Sajak’s behavior after Monday’s episode aired. During the show, Sajak ridiculed contestant Chris Brimble because the man had a minor speech impediment.

While Brimble is introducing himself at the beginning of the game show, Sajak notices that he has a slight lisp. After Brimble describes what he does for a living, Sajak replies by saying “I thee” instead of the typical “I see” – as a jab at Brimble’s minor speech impediment.

Due to COVID regulations, the studio audience at the Wheel of Fortune taping session was not as full as it typically was. However, some people did laugh at Sajak’s joke, including another contestant off-screen. However, viewers at home were not as pleased with Sajak’s condescending humor and turned to Twitter to share their outrage.

Twitter comments rolled in quickly after Sajak’s offensive joke aired on Monday night.

“So…. did anyone else notice Pat Sajak make fun of the contestant’s lisp on Wheel of Fortune tonight?”

Another person wrote, “Thanks for making fun of people with a lisp on tonight’s show, you arrogant, overpaid jerk – Pat Sajak. Quit now. Maybe if you grew up with a speech impediment, you’d understand.”

“Did Pat Sajak just mock one of the contestants?”

Despite being mocked on national television by the show’s host, Brimble performed well during his appearance. Although he did not turn out on top after the show was over, he did return home with a nice prize. He earned himself $12,250 in cash and prizes.

A few months ago, Sajak earned the ire of America for lashing out at a female contestant back during an episode that aired in December 2020. Because Sheryl Senet interrupted Sajak one too many times during the show, he was compelled to scold her.

“Never, never interrupt. Never interrupt a plug,” the host of 38 years said.

Although Sajak thought he was funny – laughing at his own joke – Twitter users were not as pleased with his frustration.

“Thanks for making fun of people with a lisp on tonight’s show, you arrogant, overpaid jerk – Pat Sajak. Quit now. Maybe if you grew up with a speech impediment, you’d understand.”

Another person wrote, “Pretty sure Pat loathes Sheryl.”

“I feel like we should be taking bets on how long before Pat Sajak fully snaps at someone on Wheel,” shared another.

Some people even questioned why the network was still working with Sajak because he has seemed to have lost interest in the job over the last few years.

“How does the network not recognize that Pat Sakai is over his job? He clearly hates the monotony of his job over the last 30+ years.”

“Does anyone else feel like with each passing episode of Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak h8s his job a bit more and more? Just me?”
